The Bedale Welfare Charity is a registered charity, governed by a board of 25 trustees, referred to as The Rector and Four and Twenty of Bedale.

The purpose of the charity is to offer support to individuals in need of welfare residing in the parishes of Aiskew, Bedale, Burrill with Cowling, Crakehall, Firby, Langthorne, Leeming Bar, and Rand Grange. This includes the improvement of health or saving lives, disability, and the prevention of relief of poverty.

Support is also considered for persons under the age of 25 in the field of education, including social and physical training, who are resident or have a parent or parents resident in the parishes of Aiskew, Bedale, Burrill with Cowling, Crakehall, Firby, Langthorne, Leeming Bar and Rand Grange.

Support is offered by way of making grants to individuals or organisations or by paying for specific items, services, or facilities.
